Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
What is it?
Results from damage to the sheaths surrounding the nerve fibres of the central nervous system. Symptoms usually develop over a period of hours or days. The disease may attack only once, but usually runs a course of relapses and remissions over many years. Sufferers may develop weakness numbness and lack of coordination. They may develop slurred speech or lose full control over their bladder and bowels.

Conventional Practice:
Conventional doctors will diagnose the disease, as well as performing a thorough neurological examination, the doctor may recommend a lumbar puncture. Treatment includes courses of steroid injections, physiotherapy, occupational therapy to help the patient cope with disabilities.
