Nausea and Vomiting
What is it?
Nausea may be a symptom of many conditions, including morning sickness, motion sickness, migraine, vertigo. By ridding the body of the harmful agents, vomiting can make you feel much better. However, prolonged or excessive vomiting can result in dehydration.
Symptoms:
Nausea, vomiting.
Conventional Practice:
Nausea and vomiting are symptoms, not diseases. The most important role of a doctor is to diagnose and treat the cause of the symptoms. Medicines such as metoclopramide or prochlorperazine or injections may control vomiting once the cause is known. But medicines should be avoided during pregnancy.
Alternative Treatments:
  Acupressure
Acupressure is a mixture of massage and acupuncture, and is thought to be the forerunner of acupuncture. Instead of inserting needles, practitioners use firm thumb or fingertip massage on pain relieving pressure points. Acupressure is used to balance a flow of energy called Qi, which is believed to run through invisible channels known as meridians. More Info
  Herbal Medicine
The medicinal use of herbs is said to be as old as mankind itself. Tribes still use their traditional knowledge of plant and their healing properties passed on from generation to generation. The armies of slave workers who laboured to build the Egyptian pyramids took a daily ration of garlic to ward off the pestilential fevers and infections that were rife at the time. More Info
