What is it?
Individuals need different amounts of sleep and, throughout our lives, as well as from day to day, each person’s needs are constantly changing. But as we age it becomes normal to sleep less, to take longer to get to sleep, and to tend to wake more often during the night. If you are ill or under stress, your need for sleep is likely to increase. The natural pattern of sleep can be disturbed for many reasons, but the most common problems are: Insomnia-difficulty in falling asleep. Hypersomnia – sleeping too much and continually feeling tired. Nightmares and troubled dreams – usually a sign of anxiety. Restlessness, Sleepwalking and snoring.
