Hyperventilation
What is it?
Hyperventilation or over breathing is particularly common at moments of social tension before making a speech in public for instance. The condition can result in dizziness, fainting, and feelings of light headedness. In addition, sufferers feel pain or tightness in the chest and tingling and numbness in their fingers, toes and sometimes lips. Excessive sighing and yawning is common. Another symptom of hyperventilation is shortness of breath. To compensate for this, sufferers tend to breathe even faster and make the condition worst.
Symptoms:
Over breathing, shortness of breath, dizziness, light headedness, excessive sighing and yawning, numbness and tingling of fingers and toes.
Conventional Practice:
A doctor will examine the patient and make sure there is nothing seriously wrong. He may then tell the patient to breathe into and out of a paper bag so that the exhaled carbon dioxide is returned to his bloodstream.
Alternative Treatments:
  Yoga
Yoga is a system of spiritual, mental and physical training. YogaпїЅs underlining philosophy stresses the influence of mind over body, and holds that mental and spiritual development are necessary to reinforce the benefits that the physical exercises can bring. More Info
